Nepal Won 2-1 Against India to Enter Semifinals

For the first time in seven years, Nepal has defeated five times SAFF champions India in a match played at Dasharath Stadium. With a score of 2-1, Nepal has topped the group to enter in the semifinals of ongoing SAFF championship.
Striker Anil Gurung, who also became the man of the match, gave a lead to Nepali team by scoring against India at the 70th minute of the game. Another striker Jumanu Rai added the second goal at the 81st minute for Nepal.

Robin Singh of India scored against Nepal in the 92nd minute (injury time).
With win against India, Nepal has leaded the group ‘A’ with total of 7 points in the tournament. Group ‘A’ comprised of Nepal, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan and being the winner of Group A, Nepal has advanced to the semifinals.
India however, has also qualified for the semifinals with total of four points. Pakistan that also scored four points in the tournament failed to advance into semifinals because of higher goal difference in comparison to India.
Nepal had previously defeated Bangladesh by 2-0 and played draw of 1-1 with Pakistan.
